DCF meetings

On 6 October 2009, the Donor Coordination Forum (DCF) held its third meeting during 2009. The event was hosted by the Sector for Coordination of International Economic Aid of the BiH Ministry of Finance and Treasury (SCIA MOFT). The meeting was chaired by Ms. Riny Bus, Head of Netherlands Development Cooperation in BiH.  In her opening remarks Ms. Bus commended on the high attendance by both international and domestic stakeholders to this event.

Ms. Dusanka Basta, Assistant Minister for the Co-ordination of International Aid Co-ordination and Richard Moreton, Team leader of the Aid Coordination and Effectiveness (ACE) Project, made a joint presentation on planned improvements to aid co-ordination in the coming year.  Ms. Basta informed the participants that, following the endorsement of the Paris Declaration planned to take place at the end of 2009, an assessment will be made of the state of compliance to its principles in BiH. Ms. Basta pointed out the different roles and functions played by MoFT and the Directorate of Economic Integration (DEI) regarding the coordination of international economic assistance to BiH. Ms. Basta also invited attendees to the planned launch of the Donor Mapping Report 2008-2009.

Ms. Aneta Raic from the Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office (PARCO) presented the structure of PARCO and the PAR Fund. Ms. Raic underlined that PAR is a priority on the path to European integration and urged donor agencies to consider further support to the PAR Fund.

Finally, donors informed attendees about their new and planned projects as well as about their cooperation with other stakeholders. The next regular DCF meeting will be held in early 2010 and be chaired by the EC.
